Elementary Uniform

 

UNIFORM AND PERSONAL APPEARANCE GUIDELINES

 

Grooming and uniform guidelines are established so that WCA students will be tasteful, neat, and well groomed. Uniforms must be worn properly and neatly, be in good repair, and of correct color and shade. Torn, oversized, or faded garments are not acceptable. Clothing should be marked with the student’s name. This is essential for sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, and PE items.

 

The official carrier for WCA uniforms is SCHOOL TIME, now offering two locations for your convenience at 2041 NW Evangeline Thruway and 3809 Ambassador Caffery, Suite 120 (The Park Shopping Center - next to Charley G's and LaPizzeria), on the south side of Lafayette.

All pants, slacks, shorts, shirts, skirts, jumpers, sweatshirts, vests, and sweaters worn in the classroom must come from the official uniform supplier, School Time.

 

 

ELEMENTARY

BOYS 1^st - 6^th Grades

Hair should be neatly groomed and maintained and should be kept off the collar, the eyebrows and/or mid-ear. Extreme or “shaggy” hairstyles, colored, highlighted, or dyed, “tails”, etc., are not permitted. Elementary boys may wear watches but no other jewelry. Accessories and jewelry are subject to permanent confiscation.

 

Caps:               Caps and sunglasses are not permitted on campus during school hours. If worn during these hours, they will be permanently confiscated.

 

Trousers:          Full-length khaki slacks or walking shorts are from School Time only. Walking shorts must be walking short length. Slacks and shorts must be buttoned and zipped.

 

Shirts:              White or navy banded waist shirts with WCA patch are from School Time only.

Existing white and navy knit polo style and cotton button down uniform shirts must have WCA embroidered on the shirt and be tucked in at all times.

 

Undershirts:     Solid white turtleneck shirts may be worn under uniform shirts in cold weather.

Solid white t-shirts, worn as undershirts, must be tucked in at all times.

 

Socks:              Plain white or solid navy, crew length socks are the only acceptable style sock.

 

Belts:               Solid dark belts without adornment must be worn at all times. Solid dark colors are brown, black or navy or khaki.

 

Shoes:             Full, lace-up or Velcro, athletic shoes only. (No lights, no sounds, no wheels, no cartoon characters).

 

Sweaters:        Solid navy sweaters, vests, sweatshirts, and polar fleece from School Time only, along with official WCA navy and gray sweatshirts, are the only permissible outerwear in the classroom. These may not be oversized. The WCA emblem is required.

 

Outerwear:      True jackets or coats and/or solid navy polar / sweatshirt type jackets are allowed outside of the classroom during cold weather. Jackets may not be tied around the waist. The official WCA navy and gray sweatshirts from School Time / WCA athletic department are also acceptable outerwear.

 

 

GIRLS 1^st - 6^th Grades

Hair should be worn neatly combed and out of the eyes. Extreme hairstyles, colored, highlighted, or dyed hair, are not permitted. Elementary age girls may wear post earrings and watches. Additional jewelry, fingernail polish, and makeup are also not permitted. Jewelry and accessories are subject to confiscation.

 

Skirts:             Jumpers from School Time are to be WCA regulation plaid. Hems should fall to the knee.

 

Shorts/Slacks/ Loose fitting walking shorts or skorts from School Time must be walking short

Skorts              length. Loose fitting full-length khaki slacks from School Time may be worn. Belt loops may be removed. If not, shorts/slacks/skorts must be worn with a belt. Waistbands may not be rolled. Slacks and shorts must be buttoned and zipped.  Skorts must show a school patch on the hemline to verify length.

 

Belts:               Solid dark belts without adornment must be worn at all times. Solid dark colors are brown, black or navy or khaki.

 

Shirts:              Banded waist, navy or white shirts with WCA logo from School Time are worn.

Existing white and navy knit polo style shirts and cotton button-down uniform shirts must have WCA embroidered on the shirt and be tucked in at all times.

 

Undershirts:     Solid white turtlenecks may be worn under uniform shirts in cold weather. Solid                  white t-shirts, worn as undershirts, must be tucked in at all times.

 

Ties:                 Regulation red with snap to be worn with button-down shirts only.

 

Socks:              Plain white or solid navy, crew length socks are the only acceptable style sock. Solid white or solid navy tights may be worn in cold weather.

 

Sweaters:        Solid navy sweaters, vests and sweatshirts from School Time, and official WCA navy and gray sweatshirts, are permissible outerwear in the classroom. These may not be oversized. Cardigan, v-neck, and crew neck styles are acceptable. The WCA emblem is required.
