Please note the traffic-flow map above outlining drop-off and pick-up of children.

  • Please attempt to pull as close as possible to the car in front of you as you move through the traffic line.
  • Observe staff members when pulling up to disembark. The "pull up and stop” point will vary in the morning based upon traffic flow – please be observant.
  • Note all traffic flows through the parking lot to allow additional room for vehicles.
  • Remember that exiting Cue Road is an option to parents, please also note that traffic exiting Goshen Lane must stop for traffic on Cue Road.
  • Parents should not get out of their cars unless parked in designated parking areas.
  • All children may get out of their cars unassisted once the car is completely stopped and they have direct access to the sidewalk. (Area between * * on map). Reminder – Students may not be dropped off at any other location on campus.
  • PLEASE, do not use drop-off or pick-up time to discuss your child with the teacher on duty.
  • If you have an emergency that requires your child to be checked out early, the process must be completed by 2:15. After that time, parents will be asked to follow the regular dismissal process.
  • Have your number clearly visible in the afternoon. Vehicles without numbers will be asked to park and go into the front office for assistance.
  • Please be courteous to the traffic on Broussard Road by not tailgating. Take turns allowing one car at a time in or out of Goshen Lane. It will save us a great number of unkind phone calls from the public.
Follow afternoon arrival times to avoid back-up traffic on Broussard Rd. The Sheriff informed our parents that tickets would be written for vehicles "stacking” on either E. Broussard, Cue Rd or Elan Subdivision.

Numbers for Afternoon Pick-Up

Assigning each family a number for afternoon pick-up has been a tremendous help in speeding up our dismissal process. Families will keep the number assigned to them for the duration of their stay at the Lafayette Campus. We will assign numbers to new families and hope to have their laminated numbers ready to distribute on Work Day or Open House. Preschool students will have orange number cards. First and second grade students will have red numbers and third through sixth elementary students will have blue cards.

  • Remind your children that when they hear their number called, it is their cue to exit for pick-up.
  • These number cards are your security and will be used for your entire time here at the Lafayette Campus. Do not give your numbers to anyone other than your regular carpool drivers. Please use only these number cards. If you have misplaced your number, please contact the Lafayette Campus, and we will replace it at a cost of $1.00.
  • It is your responsibility to get numbers to your carpool people. This will help with security, as you will know to whom you have given numbers. Please do not ask office staff to distribute numbers for you.
  • Your number should be posted in a clearly visible place either on your driver's side dash or visor.
  • It is important to send a note to your child's teacher if there are any changes in pick-up routine. In the case of a last minute emergency, please contact the office by sending a fax stating any changes.
  • Please note that only orange/red number cards will be called prior to 3:05 unless prior arrangements have been made with the principal. All others will be asked to exit the rear of the campus to wait for the elementary dismissal time.
  • Parents/carpools with orange preschool numbers must now wait until the elementary dismissal as elementary students are still in class.
