“National Honor Society members are selected for high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and then are expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community,” said Jason Thibodeaux, chapter adviser. Seventeen students from Westminster Christian Academy were inducted into the membership of the National Honor Society, joining the ranks of the 26 current members, in a ceremony held at the school on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Inductees were selected by a Faculty Council for meeting high standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. This year's inductees were Justina Ardoin, Scott Bassett, Shelby Bellard, Joshua Floyd, Rebecca Frith, Zack Hamburg, Patrick Hebert, James Juneau, Christopher LaBorde, Mia Matis, Olivia Mills, Joshua Myers, Maggie Panagiotis, Hailey Ruel, Scott Villery, Rebekah Wright, and Sydney Young. Currents members are Abby Olivier, Alanna Ortego, Alise Ardoin, Bailey Thompson, Claire Hughes, Emily McCalla, Gerard Williams, Jr., Jeremy Johnson, Jordan Falgoust, Katherine Credeur, Lacey Dugas, Lauren Davis, Lauren Gondron, Lauren Miller, Lindsay Fontenot, Lucas Breaux, Marci Hargroder, Megan Williams, Meredith Keating, Neil Huntsman, Nick Artigue, Nicole Primeaux, Sean Huddleston, Shelbi Bertrand, and Summer Lavergne. Sponsor is Mr. Jason Thibodeaux The Crusader Chapter of the National Honor Society is currently in its fourth year of membership with The National Honor Society. The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. Chapters exist in more than 60 percent of the nation’s high schools and, since 1921, millions of students have been selected for membership. Millions of dollars in scholarships have been awarded to senior members since 1945 by the sponsoring organization, the National Association of Secondary School Principals. |
