Mission Statement:

The mission of the WCA Music Department is to reach and disciple students for Christ through excellence, discipline, and humility in musicianship.

From the Music Teacher:

Music is an essential element in the education of children today.  Music study has been linked to higher standardized test scores, greater understanding of mathematics, even developing more socially grounded students.  It is a shame that in the United States, and even in our own state, music programs are being cut.  However, at WCA music study is still readily accessible to students from first through twelfth grade.  Students in first through sixth grade experience exposure to music fundamentals during their music classes through games, programs, and lessons.

Students in the WCA upper school are given many opportunities to express their God-given abilities and talents through the several performing groups available on campus.  Both the junior high and high school offer worship teams that lead our student bodies in worship during chapel times and other special gatherings.  The WCA Chamber Choir is available to high school students. It performs twice annually and has several runout concerts throughout the year. Finally, the WCA Drum Line is open to junior high and high school students and serves as the heartbeat of our football program.

I look forward to meeting new faces in the 2010-2011 school year and furthering the excellence of our music program for the glory of God our Creator, Redeemer, and King!  "Sing a new song to the Lord!  Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!" (Ps 96:1)

In His service,
