Portrait of a Partnership

At Westminster Christian Academy, our mission is to assist parents in educating their children by imparting God's truth to transform society in present and future generations. We intentionally use the word assist because we believe parents are God-given primary stewards of their children's education, discipleship, and formation.

But what does that assistance look like in practice?

At WCA, we define partnership as a purposeful relationship between home and school built on shared beliefs, mutual trust, and a commitment to raising students in Christ. Our role is not to replace parents, but to come alongside them—supporting, encouraging, and reinforcing the values and priorities they seek to instill in their children through a Christ-centered education rooted in truth.

While we do not require every family to share the same personal beliefs, we do ask that every family support and respect the Christian mission and biblical foundation of WCA. When families and school are aligned from the beginning, we move forward together with clarity, trust, and a shared purpose for each student made in God's image.

We believe it is better to establish alignment early rather than after enrollment. Westminster Christian Academy may not be the best fit for: 
 

• Families who are not supportive of a biblically grounded, Christ-centered approach to education
• Families who see the school primarily as a service provider rather than a partner in discipleship and learning
• Families who are unwilling to collaborate respectfully or receive feedback
• Students who have consistently disrupted the learning environment at previous schools

• Students who cannot be successful within our current system and available resources

   

Clarity at the beginning allows both the family and the school to thoughtfully evaluate the partnership. 

When Partnership Is Strong

When home and school are aligned, students grow in love, truth, and service. They develop Christ-like character, take ownership of their learning, and experience consistency between home and school. When Partnership Is Not Strong

When home and school are not aligned, students often experience tension between competing expectations and priorities. Over time, this can hinder academic growth, character development, and the sense of community that helps students flourish. Because the partnership between home and school plays such an important role in a student's experience, we believe the strongest outcomes occur when families and educators share common goals and work together in a spirit of trust, respect, and collaboration.
